Systems Alliance Builds New Baltimore County Tourism Website Functionality That Attracts Visitors and Residents to County Businesses

New Tourism application provides enhanced overall site experience for Baltimore county residents and visitors, content authors and contributors

Systems Alliance, a digital and IT consulting firm helping clients build, assess, and optimize online properties and IT operations, today announced the launch of a custom application to attract visitors and residents to Baltimore County businesses on the new Baltimore County Office of Tourism website – www.enjoybaltimorecounty.com.

The Baltimore County Office of Tourism website entices county residents and visitors to get out and experience all that Baltimore County has to offer including events, attractions, restaurants and more. The new website includes a custom application built by Systems Alliance on their SiteExecutive web content management system. The new application provides visitors with an optimal site experience, in addition to an improved process for managing content for Baltimore County business owners.

Prior to engaging with Systems Alliance, the tourism site, home to hundreds of profiles of local attractions and restaurants, was difficult to update. When changes or updates to profiles were needed, businesses were expected to contact Baltimore county employees who managed the website to update the information. Much of the content on the site was outdated and stale due to lack of communication from the Baltimore County business owners.

The custom application that Systems Alliance built provides a fast and efficient solution to this problem by allowing business owners to login to the site and create and update company profiles. Any updates are then put into a workflow process to be reviewed and approved by site administrators, creating a seamless method for keeping site content fresh.

Site visitors now have an easy way to find information on where to eat, play and stay in Baltimore County. The new application optimizes the user experience by offering related content, highlighting nearby attractions or accommodations in close proximity to the selected attraction, Google maps integration with driving directions and a new “My Itinerary” feature where they can create a plan for their Baltimore County adventure.
