Systems Alliance, a digital and IT consulting firm helping clients build, assess, and optimize online properties and IT operations, today announced the release of its newest version of MediaExecutive.
The new release of MediaExecutive 2012, the hosted online video service built in the SiteExecutive CMS, offers several updates including enhanced video player styling, improved accessibility and web format conversion compatibility.
MediaExecutive 2012 introduces two new default skins for the video player. Both are neutral in color offering a light and dark version so that clients can easily integrate it into existing design palettes. The player elements have also been reorganized to make the channel selector more obvious and accessible, while still ensuring that all elements of the player can be configured and customized according to clients’ needs.
New accessibility enhancements for MediaExecutive 2012 include captioning and transcriptions. Authors now have the ability to upload transcript and caption files for videos in standard format. Captions are automatically displayed when playing videos if caption files are detected. This setting is configurable so you can choose not to display captions as well.
Updates have also been made in the way videos are converted into compatible web formats. Users can create web friendly videos matching the original uploaded file, which maximizes video quality and allows for more flexible video sizes. No longer restricted to just a large and small player size, users now have complete customization over the video size/aspect ratio.
