Systems Alliance, a digital and IT consulting firm helping clients build, assess and optimize online properties and IT operations, today announced its participation in the ninth annual Diversity Conference hosted by the Johns Hopkins Diversity Leadership Council.
The Diversity Conference, launched in November, 2004 has continued to grow in purpose and scope. This half-day conference, which is open to all Johns Hopkins officers, administrators, faculty and staff, features topics on issues such as recruitment and retention, defining diversity, legal issues in higher education, conflict resolution, and more.
This year, Jasmine Tobias, Senior Web Consultant and accessibility subject matter expert with Systems Alliance, was invited to present a workshop on web accessibility. Her presentation, “Web Accessibility: Creating an Online Environment of Inclusion for People with Disabilities” will be used to educate the audience about some of the challenges that people with disabilities face when accessing websites and consuming online content. Jasmine will be demonstrating common types of assistive technologies and encouraging participants to become advocates for web accessibility while discussing the importance of governance for sustainable, accessible sites at Johns Hopkins.
