Systems Alliance, a digital and IT consulting firm helping clients build, assess and optimize online properties, today announced the launch of the newly redesigned Georgia Gwinnett Collegewebsite. The vibrant new design, built using Responsive Web Design principles and the SiteExecutive web content management system, captures the spirit of the college while providing an excellent user experience for prospective and current students as well as faculty, staff and alumni.
Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) opened as a new public institution in 2006 and has quickly grown to serve a student population of more than 9,500 students. In 2011, GGC migrated its main campus website from an open source CMS to a SaaS version of the Systems Alliance CMS SiteExecutive, which provided content authors a simpler process for creating and maintaining quality content. To expand and improve web content creation, Georgia Gwinnett selected SiteExecutive for its ease of use and the increased control it provides for managing site quality and branding. With SiteExecutive, the school provides non-technical content contributors with a structured environment for creating, managing and delivering content that is governed by an intuitive workflow approval process.
“Georgia Gwinnett College realized that in addition to improving the process for creating and maintaining quality content, we needed a website design that more closely identified with our brand and provided an intuitive approach for prospective students to learn more about GGC” said Dr. Mark Iken, GGC’s Vice President for Educational Technology. “With the expert guidance of the Web Effectiveness team at Systems Alliance, we now have a site that clearly articulates GGC’s mission as an innovator of educational technology and providing students with enhanced learning experiences.”
The new site was built in SE2012, the latest version of SiteExecutive CMS, using many of the latest modules and applications including, Structured Content, Event Calendar, Profile Directory and Image Rotator. To support the shift toward mobile and tablet browsing, the redesigned site was built using Responsive Web Design principles to allow full access to the site regardless of device type.
“We’re delighted to be working with a very innovative team at Georgia Gwinnett College as they continuously reframe each process in the student lifecycle, using forward thinking processes to attract, onboard and encourage the success of their students” said Mark Dabrowski, Vice President, Web Effectiveness Practice, Systems Alliance.
