Systems Alliance, a Web and IT consulting firm helping clients build, assess and optimize online properties, today announced it had received a 2011 Web Marketing Association WebAward for a website it designed and developed for Flagler College.
“We’re delighted that the Flagler College website was recognized with a 2011 Education Standard of Excellence Award – it’s well-deserved recognition for the Systems Alliance Web Effectiveness team members who designed and developed the site, and managed the project,” said Mark Dabrowski, vice president, Web Effectiveness Consulting, Systems Alliance. “Kudos also go out to our colleagues at Flagler College for their vision and commitment to making the Web work for their institution.”
Now in its 15th year, the 2011 WebAward competition attracted over 2,000 sites from 45 countries in 96 industry categories. Entries were judged on design, copy writing, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation, and use of technology.
The Web Marketing Association recognized the Flagler site “For Outstanding Achievement in Web Development,” for which it received an Education Standard of Excellence award. Judges identified several factors that made the Flagler site stand out, including:
- Overall design
- User experience and ease of use
As a practical matter, since launching the site late last year, Flagler has experienced a record 200 percent increase in admissions applications. School officials have also reported increasing traffic to sections of the site targeted to their primary audience – prospective students. A detailed case study about the Flagler project is available on the Systems Alliance website.
“The WebAward is great recognition for Flagler College and the efforts of Systems Alliance,” said Will Jackson, director, Web and New Media Services, Flagler College. “As much as we appreciate the recognition, when it comes to the Web, what really matters is online engagement – does the site serve the college – and based on a variety of measures, we remain delighted with its performance.”
