GIS Project Manager

Requirements:

This opportunity is for a senior level project manager in the Technology Services Practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for all phases of project management. This involves meeting with clients, developing scope and cost estimates, and working in a team environment to complete project successfully. Duties include:

  • Create or maintain client relationships through individual meetings, user groups, statewide meetings and conferences.
  • Prepare proposals in response to RFP’s including development of technical scope of work as well as cost estimates.
  • Work in a collaborative team environment with clients, sub-consultants, analysts and developers to deliver successful projects on time and on schedule.
  • Monitor project health from financial perspective as well as schedule and scope.
  • Participate in strategic discussions to further the practice growth.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members.


Qualifications:

The candidate must be a proven senior project manager with 10-15 years of project management experience with a focus in GIS and/or IT projects. Strong practical GIS and/or IT experience are required to successfully perform this role. The candidate must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously as well as strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work with a diverse team.

Responsibilities:

Knowledge of principles, practices and tools as they relate to enterprise GIS integration and deployment including: 
- Needs analysis, business process analysis, business process re-engineering, strategic planning, implementation planning and logical design
- Design and management of enterprise architectures
- Data modeling, database design and implementation and data documentation.
- System design, application frameworks, SDLC and integration middleware.
- Data standards, data maintenance, QA/QC and metadata.
- Knowledge of ESRI desktop, web and mobile product lines.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
