Company Hires Charlie Pierce, as Senior Business Development Executive and Luis Payano as Senior Technical Architect; Both Have Extensive Experience Delivering IT Solutions to Public-Sector Institutions Across State of Georgia
BALTIMORE and ATLANTA, November 10, 2009 – Systems Alliance, Inc., a regional systems integrator providing high-value IT and business consulting services, today announced it has expanded its Atlanta sales and engineering team by hiring Charles Pierce as a senior business development executive and Luis Payano as a senior technical architect. In addition, the company has been authorized to resell and deliver Sun Microsystems' hardware, software and services to all public-sector clients in Georgia through Sun's contract with the state.

With over 20 years of experience selling high-technology products and services in the education market, Charlie Pierce joins Systems Alliance from Consonus Technologies, where he was Senior Education Territory Representative for the state of Georgia. Pierce holds a Master of Science in Agriculture Economics from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Science in the same field from the University of Florida.
Luis Payano has over 16 years of experience in systems administration and engineering. Like Pierce, he joins Systems Alliance from Consonus Technologies, where he was a Client Solutions Lead, responsible for helping customers build, design and deploy highly available data center solutions. Before Consonus, Payano was a senior systems engineer for Earthlink. He has studied computer science at Georgia Institute of Technology and Perimeter College, and aviation engineering at Clayton State University.
Recently named Sun Microsystems 2009 Education Partner of the Year, Systems Alliance provides IT consulting, performance improvement, Web development, data center engineering and other services to a number of private and public colleges and universities, including Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, University of Maryland, University of Tennessee and Virginia Tech.
Under the terms of the state of Georgia contract, Systems Alliance will be authorized to work with all Georgia public-sector educational institutions (K-12, college and university), as well as state and local government entities. The contract provides Georgia institutions with pre-negotiated discounted pricing on Sun products widely used for desktop, server and storage virtualization, high performance computing, Web infrastructure, identity and access management, image archiving and other enterprise computing functions.
