Building on Existing Relationships with University of Maryland University College and University of Maryland Baltimore, New Contract Provides USM with Buying Vehicle for Purchasing Sun Hardware, Software and Services
SPARKS, Md., February 3, 2010 – Systems Alliance Inc., a software development firm and systems integrator providing high-value IT and business consulting services, today announced it has been awarded a contract with the University System of Maryland (USM) to resell hardware, software and services from Sun Microsystems to member institutions.
Institutions covered by the contract include: Bowie University, Coppin State University, Frostburg State University, Salisbury University, Towson University, University of Baltimore, University of Maryland Baltimore, University of Maryland Baltimore County, University of Maryland College Park, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science, University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute, University of Maryland University College, Universities at Shady Grove and University System of Maryland at Hagerstown.
The contract expands Systems Alliance’s relationship with USM which began in 2003 when the University of Maryland Baltimore licensed SiteExecutive, the company' Web content management software.
Now with the new USM contract, Systems Alliance is authorized to provide all member institutions with negotiated pricing on Sun products widely used by academic institutions for campus data centers, desktop, server and storage virtualization, high performance computing (aka: grid or super computers), Web environments, identity and access management and other academic and research computing functions.
