Award Recognizes Year–Over–Year Sales Growth of Nearly 20 Percent, Success Engaging New Customers and Expansion in New Territories
SPARKS, Md., August 12, 2009 – Systems Alliance, Inc., a regional systems integrator providing high-value IT and business consulting services, today announced it was named Sun Microsystems "Education Partner of the Year" for Sun's fiscal year 2009. The award recognizes Systems Alliance's year-over-year sales growth of nearly 20 percent, as well as the firm's success developing new accounts and expansion in new territories.
"Over the past year, Systems Alliance has recruited top talents from a variety of Sun competitors while also boosting the depth of their technical team to develop and deliver education and healthcare solution sets around desktop virtualization, high performance computing, open storage and other client-smart initiatives," said Cole Clark, director of sales, US Education and Healthcare, Sun Microsystems. "Most importantly, Systems Alliance achieved outstanding revenue growth in an otherwise hostile economic environment – and it's worth noting that Systems Alliance is a true Sun-Only partner, carrying no competitive products in any of the product family areas represented by Sun."
In Sun's fiscal year 2009, Systems Alliance delivered a range of Sun-powered IT solutions to a growing portfolio of education-sector clients, including Johns Hopkins University, Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, Virginia Tech, University of Virginia, Liberty University, Georgetown University, Vanderbilt University, University of Tennessee, University of Alabama Huntsville and University of Maryland University College. The company also entered into new contracting relationships during the year to further expand its education business, notably with Virginia Association of State College and University Purchasing Professionals (VASCUPP),Western States Contracting Alliance (WSCA) and the Tennessee Board of Regents.
"Systems Alliance is very pleased to have been recognized by Sun for our success in the education sector," said Ric Hughes, president and CEO, Systems Alliance. "We're also especially grateful to our clients for their continued trust and selection of Systems Alliance and Sun as technology partners of choice."
