Our Client: Global Entertainment and Broadcast Company

Challenge: Businesses face an increasingly costly challenge of managing software licenses and preventing piracy-related fines and penalties. In addition to this challenge, a global media company faced growing pressure from software vendors to identify its software usage footprint across more than 4,000 desktops and laptops and comply with license requirements. To address these issues, the company sought assistance in identifying license management methods that would not only enable compliance, but reduce future risk and costs associated with purchasing and managing software licenses. The license management issue was made more complex by the need to coordinate activities across the organization's various IT groups, including server, desktop, financial, network, security, and help desk resources.

Solution: Systems Alliance quickly established a process for evaluating solutions and brought key decision makers together to reconcile each IT group’s requirements and ensure buy in. This effort also established a rational process for selecting a packaged license management application that best met our client's identified requirements.

Along with implementing process changes and new roles for asset managers, Systems Alliance participated in the integration of the new license management process.
